- When: POSTPONED INDEFINITELY DUE TO COVID-19.
- Where: Department of Mathematics and Geosciences, University of Trieste, Trieste, Italy.
- Participants: Students and researchers who use the HPx-eos in phase equilibrium modelling in their work, or have a serious interest in doing so. Practical activities will be taught using THERMOCALC, although we will be referring to a range of software, particularly Perple_X, and you’re welcome to bring questions and problems related to the use of the HPx-eos outside THERMOCALC.
- Organisers: Luca Ziberna, Eleanor Green and Simon Schorn.
- How to apply: we expect to make an application form available on this page in February 2020. We have limited space available and expect to allocate places on a first come, first served basis.
- You will need to bring your own laptop computer and arrange and pay for your own travel and accommodation.
- Registration fee: to be confirmed.
Our aims for the workshop are:
- To discuss ways in which phase equilibrium modelling can be carried out appropriately and usefully.
- To explore the HPx-eos: their construction, calibration and use.
- To discuss and practise a range of phase equilibrium modelling applications using the program THERMOCALC, with reference to similar uses of the HPx-eos in other software, e.g. Perple_X. Note that we will teach the use of THERMOCALC from the beginning.
- To make space for participants to raise questions and discuss their own computational phase equilibrium problems with the organisers and/or the group.
